Six makeup tips that everyone should know

All women use mascara, and it would seem, what's so complicated? But we did ask makeup artists how they do it - and we learned a lot. Here are six tips that will take your relationship with mascara to the next level.

Now is the perfect time to delve into the subject: after all, we're forced to wear a mask that hides two-thirds of our faces! However, these secrets will come in handy at any moment. Here are 6 tricks, from how to visually enhance your eyes to how to make your mascara last all day.

Lifehack #1: double layer of powder under the eyes

Mascara often stains the eyelid when applied. To avoid this, international makeup artist Joe Adenuga advises powdering the eye area first: "Before you move on to your lashes, apply a clear loose powder and secure it with a fixing spray. If you're using eye shadow, don't forget an eye primer. It'll keep mascara from smudging too.

Just twirl your lashes and they instantly look super voluminous without any extensions or false eyelashes.

"An important point after using curlers: apply only water-resistant mascara. It's great for fixing the curve, even if your lashes are naturally straight," says London-based star makeup artist Athena Efstathiou.

Lifehack #3: bigger is not always better

It's natural to think that the more generous the layer of mascara, the more expressive your eyes. But sometimes less is better. "Start your makeup with the top lashes, because sometimes that's enough for an open look effect," advises Joe Adenuga. - Wear less mascara on your lower lashes, as too much mascara can weigh you down.

Lifehack #4: Glue your lashes together-yes, yes, on purpose!

The doll-like look is another topical effect that's easy to achieve. It's also called "spider's legs": thick bunches of glued together lashes, pointed upwards.  

First, apply mascara in several layers, and then connect the lashes with tweezers. "Move from the inner corner of the eye to the outer corner. That way you won't damage the bundles you've already collected," says Joe Adenuga.

Lifehack #5: Bend the tip of the brush

Having a hard time getting to the inner corners of your eyes? Then this idea is for you. Carefully bend the brush at a 90-degree angle to the handle, and it will be much easier to manage. Alternatively, you can take a brush from an old mascara or buy a set of disposable applicators - if you do this with a native applicator, there's a risk that the brush won't unbend and you won't be able to put it back into the tube.

Lifehack #6: Go from the roots

Move from the very base of your lashes upwards. After coloring them along their length, work the outer corners of your eyes separately. "Make sweeping motions with a brush for maximum volume and length," says Athena Efstathiou.
