The ONE Beauty Award How it Happened

2,000 events all over Russia, thousands of guests and about 1,500 makeup artists - the first award for makeup artists organized by Oriflame was an event of grand scale. Let's look back at how the contest took place and honor the winners. 

The ONE Beauty Award was a really large scale selection of the best Russian makeup artists. As soon as we announced the contest in February, we immediately received applications from participants from all parts of Russia. Everyone, both professional and amateur, could compete for the opportunity to conclude an annual contract with Oriflame, i.e. to get a ticket to the beauty industry and build a career of makeup artist. The main criterion was the ability to reveal a person's true beauty. 

The qualifying round was held within the framework of beauty events held by Oriflame partners across the country. The contestants had to show their skills there in the first place. The quarter-finals were held during the Beauty Days in March and April in 14 cities of the country. Those events were a huge success with a total of 6 thousand people attending them. The program was interesting and tight: master classes from star make-up artists (including Irina Mitroshkina and Alena Tereshchenko), fashion tips from the official stylist Roman Belosnezhny, tasting Wellness cocktails and digital skin testing - all that caused a flurry of positive emotions and genuine interest to the products. 

Oriflame beauty days were covered in social networks, television and in the press. 100 bloggers came to the events and shared the details on their pages. 15 videos could be seen on the air of federal and regional channels, and World Fashion Channel broadcasted a whole reportage. In total, the Beauty Days were devoted to about a hundred publications in the media!

The semi-final of the contest was held in a video battle format. The participants were recording video lessons, the best of them were chosen by the jury which consisted of the co-founder of the project #FollowMeTo Natalia Osmann, the official Oriflame makeup artist Alena Tereshchenko and the star makeup artist Irina Mitroshkina. The finale took place at the managers' conference in Antalya on May 13. The contract for one million rubles was awarded to Galina Ilyina from Cheboksary. Sergei Balaban from Khabarovsk got the audience award and a year's supply of cosmetics. Marina Novikova from Nizhny Novgorod was also awarded with a prize from Ekaterina Aksenova, the beauty director of Cosmo, and a certificate for the beauty studio!
